I am fortunate to be spending the week of the Maccabi Games with three houseguests. Mirele Mann, 14, of Franklin, Mich. likes to hang out with friends and go to the movies. This is her second year playing softball for the games. Mirele’s mother is from Cuba and her dad is from Romania. She speaks Spanish, Hebrew and English. Michelle Friedman, 13, of West Bloomfield, Mich. plays shortstop for the Detroit softball team. This is her first year of Maccabi and she enjoys the experience of meeting new people. Michelle hopes to goto the Maccabi games again next year. Rachel Scher, 16, lives in Albany, N. Y. but is playing with the Detroit softball (second base) team this year. This is her second year playing softball. For fun, Rachel likes shopping and hanging out with friends. An interesting fact about her is she goes to a boarding school in New York called Hoosac. I am so glad I was able to have these kind people as my houseguests.
