One of the most impressive things I have noticed about the JCC Maccabi Games is the number of volunteers and host families. For every out of town athlete, there is a host family. I am with a very loving host family, the Tubers, who have welcomed me and taken me in with so much warmth. The parents, Jack and Joy, are both hardworking doctors. They have two sons, Louis, 16, and Michael, 11. Louis, a senior in high school, is representing Phoenix on the bowling team. Also in my family is the friendliest golden lab, April. April entertains us all with her fetching and other tricks. I look forward to getting to know my family even more in the next few days.
