For this year's Day of Caring and Sharing all of the coaches and athletes piled on buses to the Arizona Science Center. After a 30-minute bus ride with no air conditioning, I toured the museum. Then I went to make a Checkers set for blind children. My group and I were able to do this by attaching foam to the black squares and small circles to the black game pieces. It made me appreciate how lucky I am to have my vision. Next I went to make a blanket for a sick person in the hospital. Hayley Glauben, a member of the Houston dance team, mentioned to me about Day of Caring and Sharing, "It was really neat to watch everyone work together, and you could see that people felt good about helping out."
